A Welcome Message from Pastor David

Welcome to the Saint Andrew’s Lutheran Church web site. I hope you are learning a little about our congregation. In the time I have served as senior pastor here, I have learned that this is a congregation that takes seriously its commitment to Share Christ in Faith, Fellowship, and Service. As you look around our web site, I hope you see signs of this truth.
However, the best way to get acquainted with Saint Andrew’s is to join us for worship. When you visit, my hope is that you will experience Christ’s presence in sharing of the Word and Sacrament, as well as in the gathering of God’s people in this place. And I hope you allow time for fellowship and getting acquainted.
My wife, Dawn, and I moved to Columbia in January 2018 so I could serve as the pastor at Saint Andrew’s. Before that, I served in Albion, Nebraska, and Tulsa, Oklahoma. Whether urban, rural or a college town, I have found each setting to be filled with wonderful blessings. God is indeed good.
I am a 2002 graduate of Wartburg Theological Seminary in Dubuque, Iowa. Before going to seminary I had served for over ten years as an academic advisor at Wichita State University. In addition to my Masters of Divinity from WTS, I also bring a Masters of Education in Counseling to my role as pastor.
I would love the opportunity to become better acquainted. Join us as we worship God who is revealed as Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Come and explore what God is doing in this place.
Yours in Christ,
Pastor David Frerichs
